WASTE : WORKSHOP STRESSES NEED FOR CLEAR DEFINITIONS TO ENSURE LEGAL SAFETY.

The new Waste Framework Directive must contain a set of precise definitions, guaranteeing the necessary legal safety to the industry. This is the message clearly conveyed by the waste treatment sector during a workshop on the proposal for a revised Waste Framework Directive (COM(2005)667), organised on 27 February in Brussels by the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), the European Federation of Waste Management and Environmental Services (FEAD), the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and the European Environmental Bureau (EEB).
