ENERGY : COMPROMISE IN SIGHT ON REFORM OF ENERGY STATISTICS.

The European Parliament gave the green light, on 12 March, to an inter-institutional compromise at first reading on the reform of European energy statistics, whose objective is to better support the Community's energy policy.

The Committee on Industry having granted its unanimous support to the report by Claude Turmes (Greens, Luxembourg), and it benefited from the same support in the plenary. The text of the compromise will then be ratified as such by the EU Council of Ministers.
