EUROPEAN ORGANIC LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION.

The European Commission's DG Agriculture launched, on 27 April, a competition for the design of a new European organic logo, open to design and art students from the 27 member states. The winning logo will become the new official symbol of organic products throughout the Union in July 2010. It will be mandatory for all pre-packaged organic products that originate in the member states.
In addition, all non pre-packaged organic products from the EU or imported from third countries can use the EU logo on a voluntary basis. The competition will be judged by a jury of experts from the field of organic farming and production and internationally renowned design professionals.
