NEW PUBLICATION: THE CLIMATE CHALLENGE

In the European Economy series, the European Commission has published a study entitled "The climate challenge: Economic aspects of the Community's strategy for limiting CO2 emissions". This study, carried out under the responsibility of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG II), analyses the probable economic impact of the proposed carbon dioxide and energy tax, its macro-economic and sectorial effects, and its effects on income distribution. In addition to purely economic considerations, the publication looks at Community strategy from an international point of view, and goes back over measures already taken to limit greenhouse gas emissions.
