Senior representatives from the Russian Ministries of Atomic Energy, Finance and Foreign Affairs, OECD countries, the European Commission and the International Atomic Energy Agency met in Moscow from April 15 to 17 to discuss the benefits Russia would derive from joining the system of international nuclear liability conventions. The resolution of liability and insurance questions is considered essential to the efforts by member countries of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development to provide nuclear safety assistance to Russia.
