GAZPROM TO ACQUIRE 34% OF LIETUVOS DUJOS IN LITHUANIA.

Russian gas giant Gazprom has signed a deal with the Lithuanian State Property Fund for the acquisition of a 34% stake in local gas distributor Lietuvos Dujos, as part of its privatisation. The terms of the agreement have not been revealed, but the Lithuanian government announced earlier this year that the transaction would be worth around 91 million Litas, or Euro 26.4 million.

Gazprom may have agreed to pay 9 million Litas more in exchange for a guarantee from the Government to liberalise tariffs for wholesale customers, according to a non-official source quoted by news agency Interfax.
