BETTER INSULATION: GOOD FOR THE WALLET AND GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.

The European Association of Insulation Manufactures (EURIMA) aims to make the most of the current spotlight on energy efficiency. EURIMA officially launched a European campaign at the European Parliament in Brussels on March 16, with a view to supporting an action plan for insulating buildings. In a press release, the association gives "new proof on the cost-effectiveness of energy efficiency measures in buildings this evidence demonstrates that Europe could at least save euro 7.5 billion a year by 2010". EURIMA bases these figures on a study carried out by consultancy Ecofys, which also foresees the creation of 300,000 jobs and a saving of 400 million tonnes of CO2. This would amount to almost all of Europe's Kyoto commitments.
