In a simplified procedure, the European Commission gave clearance on 18 December to Dutch Petroplus International to acquire ExxonMobil Central Europe Holding GmbH of Germany. Petroplus is controlled by private equity company Riverstone Holdings LLC of the US and deals in the refining, marketing and international trading of crude oil.
ExxonMobil CEH operates the Ingolstadt refinery in Germany and is a wholesale supplier of refined oil products.
