ENERGY PROJECT COORDINATORS.

The Commission has appointed four coordinators for projects under the Priority Interconnection Plan adopted by the Commission in January 2007. The European Parliament's Energy Committee (ITRE) had approved the four in July. Former Mario Monti is responsible for the high voltage connection between France and Spain.

Former German Secretary of State for Economy Georg Wilhelm Adamowitsch deals with Baltic and North Sea off-shore wind connections. Former Dutch Foreign Affairs Minister Jozias van Aartsen will tackle the troubled Nabucco gas pipeline project. Polish Professor W adys aw Mielczarski is responsible for power connection between Germany, Poland and Lithuania. (DAI)
