ENERGY COUNCIL : MINISTERS TO DEBATE LIBERALISATION AND CLIMATE ACTION.

During their Council meeting on 28 February in Brussels, the EU's energy ministers will discuss all the legislative proposals presented by the European Commission in 2007 and the beginning of 2008. At the centre of this work is the liberalisation of markets and climate change.

THIRD WAY'

The ministers will first have to give their approval to the Slovenian EU Presidency's compromise approach to liberalisation. The debate risks becoming stormy over the options for unbundling network activities because the third way' does not enjoy unanimous support, especially when it comes to applying the mandate of the European Council of March 2007.
