Spanish MEP Alejo Vidal-Quadras (EPP-ED), deputy president of the European Parliament, was awarded, on 8 April in Brussels, the insignia of Officier de l'Ordre National de la Legion d'Honneur', one of the highest decorations in France. The insignia was presented to him by Pierre Sellal, France's permanent representative to the EU, in recognition of his work in the Parliament, both as deputy president responsible for information and communication and as member of the Industry Committee.
Vidal-Quadras has been an MEP since 1999. (CSA)
