BELGIUM/GAS : SUEZ SHORTLISTS DISTRIGAS BUYERS.

Respecting remedies set out by the European Commission in October 2007, Suez will decide, before the end of June 2008, on the candidate buyer for its 57% stake in Belgian gas distributor Distrigas. Following Suez's merger with Gaz de France, the European Commission had required, among other changes, that the company dispose of its holding in Belgian gas distributor Distrigas. On 26 March, Suez announced that it had shortlisted three candidate buyers for its holding in Distrigas. Suez will consider offers for its stake in Distrigas from national energy champions EDF (France), ENI (Italy) and EON (Germany). Not on the list of shortlisted candidates was Spain's Iberdrola, Dutch Nuon and Belgium's SPE.
