Sec Henry Cisneros addressed the National Press Club in Apr 1996 and said that the nation's cities are at a point of renewal and that the renewal must be supported and encouraged. Cisneros urged additional funding, more empowerment zones, environmental cleaning, and other measures.
"American cities are at a point of rebirth and renewal, (and) our task has been to help neighborhoods and cities start the climb back up," HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros said in an address at the National Press Club on April 25.
