Nation's Cities Weekly, November, 1997 by Becker, Christine; O'Neill, Brian J.
Members of the National League of Cities (NLC) have been providing input for the NLC's proposed strategic plan since early 1997. Members will be able to provide feedback before the plan is finalized. The last strategic planning process took place in 1988.
After nearly 10 months of work, the NLC Strategic Planning Committee will present its proposed plan to the NLC membership at the upcoming Congress of Cities. The plan provides a blueprint for the organization during the coming years.
"This has been an exciting process," said NLC First Vice President and Committee Chair Brian O'Neill, councilmember from Philadelphia. "We have taken a serious look at our organization and come away with a sense of excitement, enthusiasm, and confidence."
