To help local elected officials maximize their ability to apply for federal and private public safety related grants, the National League of Cities will publish monthly updates on federal and private funding opportunities.
[] COPS IN SCHOOL HIRING GRANTS: The COPS in Schools grant program is offering up to $60 million to local law enforcement agencies to help hire community policing officers to work in schools. This initiative provides an incentive for law enforcement agencies to build working relationships with schools to use community policing efforts to combat school violence.
