Tom Griffin, director of the Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency in Vancouver, Wash., is representing NLC and the other local public interest groups on a special Department of Homeland Security (DHS) committee that is drafting a National Response System and National Incident Management System.
Griffin was appointed jointly by NLC, the National Association of Counties, the U.S. Conference of Mayors and International City-County Management Association, to this special group that is working over the summer in Washington. DHS had asked the public interest groups to recommend someone with direct experience in responding to and managing significant incidents or disasters
