Congress passes TTHUD appropriations bill.(Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development)

In a victory for cities, the recently passed Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development (TTHUD) appropriations bill keeps the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and funds it at $4.2 billion.

Congress passed the fiscal year 2006 TTHUD appropriations by a vote of 392-31 in the House and by voice vote in the Senate before leaving for the Thanksgiving recess. President Bush is expected to sign the bill because Congress addressed his concerns about Cuban trade policy and Amtrak.
