NBC-LEO hears from civil rights icon at Congress of Cities.(National League of Cities)(National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials)

NLC's National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (NBC-LEO) constituency group kicked off its meetings at the Congress of Cities and Exposition in Reno, Nev., with an economic development mobile tour of the city.
During the tour, participants were able to see achievements by many African-Americans in the city such as the first McDonald's owned by an African-American; structures designed by Paul Williams, a famous black architect; the New China Club, the first social club in Reno to allow African-Americans; Bethlehem Church, the first black church in Reno; and the Lear Theater, the first black-owned theater in Reno.
