While the outcome of this year's Presidential election is still very much in play, what is clear at this point is that the campaign has been an affirmation of our democratic political system.

Voters are coming out in record numbers to participate in the primaries, young people are motivated to engage in the election process and issues are being vigorously debated as we confront the war, a slowing economy, rising prices and a major housing crisis.

Local elected officials are critical players in this democratic system.
