AUTOLIV TAKES CONTROL OF TURKISH VENTURE

Swedish-US car safety equipment maker Autoliv Inc revealed on March 31 that it has raised its holding in Turkish venture Cankor to 90% by acquiring a 40% stake in the company. The stake was purchased for an undisclosed sum from the Alaca family with which Autoliv formed the 50-50 joint venture in 1993. Cankor, with sales of USD14 million, produces seat belts and airbags for several major European car manufacturers.
