At a hearing of the EUL-NGL Group, at the European Parliament on 28 March, European trade unions unanimously reiterated their rejection of the Power8' programme undertaken by Airbus-EADS. The hearing looked into the reasons for the crisis in the company, the possible solutions and the role of the EU institutions and social partners in the development of the European aeronautics industry.
Peter Scherrer, general secretary of the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF), reminded MEPs of workers' demands: "No site disposals or shutdowns and no job cuts.
