IRS unveils strategic plan. The Internal Revenue Service recently unveiled its new strategic plan, which outlines three goals for the agency through 2009: improved customer service, enhanced enforcement of tax laws, and modernized business processes and technology. The plan is consistent with the direction of IRS Commissioner Mark W.
Everson, who has requested additional funding to improve the agency's enforcement presence, particularly in the tax-exempt sector.
