Howard Jung would focus his attention on retailers, wholesalers, dealers, financing, technology and having fun during his term as chairman of Ace Hardware Corp. He believes that his role is to challenge the board of directors, dealers and company officers to attain high degrees of success. He believes that by differentiating Ace at the retail level he can guarantee the long-term success of its retailers. He was elected chairman of Ace for three years during its annual meeting in Jun 1998. He succeeded Richard Laskowski who has retired from the board.
