Ace Hardware Corp. is entering into a joint venture with Rocky's Ace Hardware to open as many as 14 store locations in the Northeast that had been formerly operating as part of the ACO Hardware/NHD chain. Rocky's Ace Hardware and Ace will take possession of the sites and begin extensive renovations on the locations in late 1998. Grand opening ceremonies are slated for the spring of 1999.
The eight-store Rocky's Ace Hardware chain, headquartered in Springfield, Mass., is currently owned and operated by James Falcone and his family. Rocky's Ace has been affiliated with Ace Hardware since 1978, with their most recent store, located in South Hadley, Mass., opening in 1997.
