* Ace Hardware Corp. has struck a strategic alliance in the Mexican hardware market with Hardware Enterprises de Mexico, a wholly owned subsidiary of Commercial Mexicana de Pinturas (COMEX), the largest paint manufacturer in Mexico.
Hardware Enterprises de Mexico has a retail format, Practico Home Center, created in 1996.
"Our new alliance with Hardware Enterprises de Mexico will strengthen Ace's market presence in that country, as well as help retailers operating under the Practico Home Center brand," said Murray Armstrong, managing director-Ace International.
Ace opened its first store in Mexico in 1990, and today has 28 retailers operating 84 retail outlets/points of sale in the Mexican market.
