* Sixty six percent of Americans own cell phones and with skyrocketing phone sales come an increase in demand to accessorize them. Realizing the upward sales trend, Ron Menegon of Steve's Ace Hardware in St. Helena, Calif., figured he deserved a piece of the action.
Not only was Menegon able to capitalize on a popular consumer trend, he was able to fill a void in the marketplace, a critical aspect when targeting a niche market. "Radio Shack went out of business locally a few years ago and, realizing there was no one else in the area to offer those types of products, we decided to offer them here," he says.
