George Smith's family has been in the hardware business for more than 60 years, beginning with Yardville Supply Co.--which sells ready-mix concrete, hardware and LBM to area pros--and more recently with Mercer Ace Hardware and now Smith's Ace Hardware, which opened less than five years ago in Princeton, N.J.
In fact, Smith's Ace Hardware is the only hardware store in Princeton. "The original plan was to open an Ace corporate store here, but when those plans fell through we stepped in to open our own store," says Smith, who jumped on board with Ace's Vision 21 program immediately. "We want to be known as an Ace store, and we want to take advantage of its powerful national brand," he says.
