> In July, Renishaw acquired a 75% interest in D3 Technologies for 1.85 million [pounds sterling] ($3.7 million) in cash. The investment includes the purchase of the assets of the analytical business operated by Mesophotonics for 850,000 [pounds sterling] ($1.7 million). D3 holds patents related to surface enhanced Raman spectrometry (SERS) and is developing SERS for molecular diagnostics and trace detection applications.
