Celera separation date set

Norwalk, CT 5/9/08 -- By July 1, Celera will separate from Applera by means of a redemption of all the outstanding shares of the Celera tracking stock (see IBO 2/29/08). Celera will list on the NASDAQ Stock Market.
Applied Biosystems has agreed not to commercialize for three years certain assays or OEM instruments that would compete with Celera's products.
