The holiday season is a time for joy and celebration, hut it can be stressful too. This past season was especially difficult for people who were looking for that perfect toy for a young child.

In recent months, more than seven million toys violating basic safety standards were recalled from stores across America. These recalls followed reports of preventable injuries and deaths.

Families shopping for young children were forced to guess which toys were safe and which toys were covered in lead paint, riddled with deadly magnets, or coated with a substance that acted like the date rape drug.
