AAS awards Intersystems mammoth monitor deal.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AAS) has awarded a US$5 million contract to Intersystems to install nearly 2,000 `intelligent' monitors for use throughout the airport -- one of the industry's largest ever contracts for Vision monitors.
Intersystems developed one of the first intelligent Vision II video displays, specifically designed for AAS to meet its information demands in 1992. The latest step in the range of Vision monitors is the Multimedia Vision V monitor, said the company. Each Vision V display has a built-in computer combining advanced graphics and multimedia capabilities.
Digital control techniques simplify operation and maintenance, lowering the cost of ownership. Each display contains a Pentium based PC and SVGA compatible video controller....
