Spotting the passengers airlines don't want: QinetiQ's MatchMaker remembers the passengers your staff may wish to forget. Andy Wade, Technical manager, QinetiQ, explains how its system works. (Airport Security).

Disruptive or undesirable airline passengers may become a thing of the past if the QinetiQ MatchMaker[TM] system continues to get the support already given to it by the British Airline Pilots' Association (Balpa). Using expertise developed from decades of military research, QinetiQ's Matchmaker[TM] will be able to supply timely information to the airlines on the existence of `previously' disruptive or undesirable passengers who are planning to fly on their aircraft.

The core of the system is a secured `Disruptive Passenger' database located on a QinetiQ site. Airlihe users will be linked to MatchMaker using standard communication technologies, but incorporating encryption at certain stages.
