Toronto Terminal opens.(Toronto-Pearson International)(Brief Article)

Toronto-Pearson International has opened its new C$3.6 billion ($2.7b) 42-gate Terminal 1, despite the fact that the future of its biggest user, Air Canada, is still very uncertain.
Greater Toronto Airports Authority CEO Louis Turpen said: "The vision of a new Toronto Pearson is now reality. This expansion will generate significant economic benefits for Ontario and play a vital role in Toronto's economic recovery from recent challenges." In 2003 the airport handled 24.7 million passengers.
