Siemens Viisage partnership.(licensing agreements)(Brief Article)

Viisage, a provider of technology identity solutions, has reached agreement with Siemens AG to further develop three-dimensional face recognition technology. The agreement, which provides Viisage with exclusive rights to Siemens' 3-D image acquisition technology, involves several Siemens trading businesses. The combination of Siemens' hardware and optics, together with Viisage's 2-D and 3-D face recognition algorithms, offer the potential to improve recognition in applications where images of a person are currently taken in only two dimensions.
Viisage has also acquired the US identity document authentication company Imaging Automation.
