Swedish CAA re-organised.(Sweden's Aviation Safety Department, and Aviation and Public Sector Department merges to form Civil Aviation Authority)(Brief Article)

The Swedish Aviation Safety Department and the country's Aviation and Public Sector Department have combined to form a new authority--the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority. A State-run enterprise, it will be managed in the manner of a commercial concern. Its two main roles are the continued operation of, and investment in, Sweden's airports for civilian use; and air navigation service provision in peacetime for civilian and military air transport and ATC training. Current business areas which fall outside these categories will continue to be known as Luftfartsverket LFV.

The number of passengers across the authority's 19-airport system rose by 5% last year: in December these airports recorded a 9% overall increase compared with the same month the previous year....
