Entebbe upgrade.(Middle East / Africa)(International Airport )(Brief article)

Upgrade work began at Entebbe International Airport in September, in preparation for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in November 2007. The works started with the handover of two project sites to the contractors of a domestic and general aviation terminal building and expansion of the arrival area at the passenger terminal.

The sh24.81b (US$13 million) projects are expected to be complete by June 30, 2007, and August 31, 2007, respectively. China Nanjing international won the contract for the domestic and general aviation terminal, while Cementers Uganda took the arrivals area expansion deal.
