We all know that, statistically, flying is by far the safest way to travel. But despite this comforting detail, we still need the airport fire and rescue services to be at the top of their game. While ICAO sandards are recognised around the globe, there are still areas in which an individual country's standards soar above and beyond those required by legislation. The UK's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations certainly fall within that definition, with the result that IFTC's facilities are used to train airport fire-fighters from all over the world.
