The man who helped build ADT Automotive Inc. into the nation's third-largest auto auction company is among the suitors who want to buy a chunk of it.
Tony Moorby, CEO of ADT in Nashville, Tenn., said he is working to line up partners and financing to buy some or all of the eight ADT auctions and one Manheim Auctions Inc. auction that are for sale for an undisclosed price.
``Yes, I would like to have a go at it,'' said Moorby, a native of England who moved to the United States and founded Anglo American Auto Auctions in 1982 with Michael Richardson. The company was renamed ADT Automotive in 1993. Richardson retired in 1998.
