Aston unveils V-12 flagship.(Aston Martin Ltd.'s V-12 Vanquish)(Brief Article)

Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin's chief executive, said the automaker plans to boost production and expand its worldwide dealer network with the launch of its V-12 Vanquish.

The flagship was unveiled Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Geneva show. The car goes on sale in Europe this summer and will be priced at e250,350, or about $228,400.

``The Premier Automotive Group will allow us to strengthen the Aston Martin brand and its profile,'' Bez said at the show. ``It gives us the opportunity to dip into a deep pool of resources, (and) it will increase our reputation as a global player.''

Besides Aston Martin, Ford Motor Co.'s Premier Automotive Group includes Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln and Mercury.
