Local agency units.(agencies for General Motors)(Brief Article)

Each of General Motors' national advertising agencies has formed a unit to handle local creative work. Saturn, Hummer and Saab are not participating in the local marketing program. Here is how the agency units were formed.

McCann-Erickson Advertising, Buick's agency, has teamed up with another McCann-Erickson WorldGroup agency, Jay Advertising Inc. in Rochester, N.Y., to form McCann-Jay. Jay has done creative work for Buick dealers.

Lowe Lintas & Partners, GMC's agency, has formed LLP-Jay, also involving Jay Advertising.

D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, which handles Pontiac and Cadillac, has teamed up with Martin Advertising Inc. in Birmingham, Ala., to form D'Arcy Martin Group. Martin already handles several GM dealers' advertising.
