When it introduces the redesigned Z3 roadster in November, BMW Manufacturing Corp. will give customers more time to change their minds.

BMW is making changes at the Spartanburg, S.C., assembly plant to allow buyers to adjust their order up to six days before the vehicle is completed, said Helmut Leube, president of the U.S. subsidiary.

Despite giving buyers more time to change their minds, it will still take about four weeks from the time the car is ordered until it is delivered to the dealership, BMW says.

Leube cautions that it could take more than two years for the process to be fully implemented.
