He knows enough already to call it ``Jag-you-are,'' not ``Jag-wahr.''
In an interview, Mark Fields, the head of Ford's Premier Automotive Group since July, was modest and restrained. He admitted to being on a steep learning curve, but said he was not out of his depth.
``It has been two months of having my eyes open and my mouth shut,'' said Fields, 41, who took the post after running Mazda Motor Corp. for nearly three years. ``I'm still getting educated into luxury.''
PAG includes Volvo, Land Rover, Aston Martin and Jaguar. Lincoln left the group as the result of a reorganization in April. What's left is a slimmer organization with modest oversight responsibilities.
