Don Coleman, CEO of GlobalHue in Southfield, Mich., has been marketing cars to people of color since 1994. That was the year that his Don Coleman & Associates won the Chrysler Corp. African-American advertising account.

The agency became Don Coleman Advertising Inc. in 1997. Coleman sold a 49 percent share of the company to True North Communications in 1999. InterPublic Group bought True North in 2001. Coleman purchased Chrysler's Hispanic advertising agency Montemayor y Associados in 2000 and Asian agency Innovasia Advertising in 2002 to become GlobalHue. With $350 million in billings, GlobalHue is considered the largest multicultural advertising agency in the United States.
