Porsche redesigned about 90 percent of the exterior body panels for its new-generation 911 sports car. Alcan, of Canada, supplies the sheet metal for the hood. Valeo, of France, provides the car's front and rear lights; its heating, ventilation and air conditioning system; and an ultrasonic park assist system.
The lighting contract is another big win for Valeo, which has contracts to supply lights for two other new models - the Citroen C4 and BMW 1.
ThyssenKrupp Automotive Systems, a subsidiary of Germany's ThyssenKrupp Automotive, delivers the car's front and rear axle assemblies from a just-in-time facility located only 767 yards from Porsche's assembly plant in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany. The axle assemblies...
