The recent merger of two financial-services companies - Wachovia Corp. and Westcorp - included the combination of Wachovia's auto finance business with WFS Financial Inc., Westcorp's vehicle-lending subsidiary. Executives of the combined company say it will offer a broader range of dealer floorplanning, online services and consumer loans. It ranks among the five largest bank-owned auto finance companies in the United States.
Dawn Martin, 46, who was chief information officer of WFS Financial, became COO of Wachovia's auto finance business in March. She spoke with Staff Reporter Gail Kachadourian about her new duties.
