CHERRY HILL, N.J. - Subaru of America will have a new CEO effective April 1.
Tomohiko Ikeda will replace Kunio Ishigami, who has held the top U.S. post since June 2004.
Subaru said Ishigami will retire. He has been with parent company Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. for 38 years. Ishigami surpassed the corporate goal of 200,000 annual sales in 2006, with U.S. sales of 200,703 units.
Ikeda has been with Fuji Heavy Industries for 30 years. Previously he was corporate vice president.
Ikeda worked at Subaru of America from 1988 to 2002 as head of business planning, managing capital assets and coordinating sales and marketing with the parent company.
Before that, he served in the Subaru overseas division from 1992 to 1997. He was...
