Subaru of America marketing chief Tim Mahoney is trying to re-create the magic he helped generate at Subaru in the 1990s.
Mahoney has been spicing up the marketing message in the 11 months since returning to the Japanese brand from Porsche Cars North America.
His efforts will be on display this year as Subaru launches new versions of the Tribeca, Impreza and Impreza WRX.
"We don't have the awareness that a brand like Volkswagen has or some of the other brands that have larger budgets than we have,'' Mahoney says.
