UnitedAuto Group buys 3 Austin, Texas, stores

UnitedAuto Group Inc. this month acquired Classic Automotive Group near Austin, Texas, which operates Toyota-Scion, Honda and Hyundai dealerships in suburban Round Rock. UnitedAuto says it expects the dealerships to contribute $300 million in annual revenue.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. UnitedAuto, a public dealership group in suburban Detroit, also operates a BMW dealership in the Austin market.

George Brochick, executive vice president of UnitedAuto's West operations, says the Round Rock Toyota and Honda dealerships "each represent one of the larger new-unit sales points for these brands in the United States.''
