Metaldyne opens 1st China plant
SUZHOU, China - Metaldyne Corp. opened a plant here last month, marking the company's first operation in China.
In a statement, Metaldyne said it invested $10 million in the project and expects annual revenue of more than $100 million when the plant reaches capacity in a few years.
Metaldyne CEO Tim Leuliette said the company will decide on building a second plant in China by year end.
The new plant will manufacture crankshaft damper assemblies, knuckle and control arm assemblies, aluminum die-cast valve bodies and powder metal products.
Automaker customers include Beijing Benz-DaimlerChrysler, Chery Automobile Co., Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile Co., Shanghai General Motors and Soueast...
