To promote its 2008 pickups and crossovers, especially in Southern states, Nissan Division is expanding marketing tie-ins with college football.
When the new season kicked off last weekend, Nissan became the "official automotive sponsor'' of the Southeastern Conference, which includes 12 universities in nine states. Nissan already sponsors the Heisman Trophy, an annual award given to college football's top player.
